Why You Need to See Horseshoe Bend NOW!

I recently took a trip to the Southwest and Horseshoe Bend was HIGH on my list of things I had to see while I was there. One of the reasons I was so desperate to see it now is because I’ve heard that they’re going to be installing barriers along the canyon rim next year…when I was on a tour of Antelope Canyon even the guides confirmed it!

The thing is, after visiting Horseshoe Bend I can see why the barriers are necessary. There were literally tour buses of people stopping to take in the views here, and this was during off season. These people weren’t exactly being safe either, I’m surprised (after Googling) there aren’t more accidental deaths here!

Standing at the edge of Horseshoe Bend offers some really stunning views that seem to go on forever.

If you’re heading on a trip to the Grand Canyon make sure you don’t miss Horseshoe Bend, it’s definitely worth the stop…especially before the barriers are installed!

Visiting Horseshoe Bend at Christmas means festive photos are a must!
I definitely wasn’t the only one hereΒ  at Horseshoe Bend with a Santa hat on!
The river below is beautiful, you don’t get to see it much through the Grand Canyon itself!

If you visit closer to mid-day you’ll get the entire Horseshoe Bend in sunlight which would be beautiful.
